Applying for a Licence

The Registration year for the SCRT is April 1st to March 31st. 

SCRT Administrative Bylaw 31(7) states, "All annual fees are payable on or before January 31 in the year prior to the licensing to which they relate."

All applicants need to meet the criteria indicated on the application form for membership to SCRT.

If you are applying from in-province, you must submit the following:

  1. An online application form which can be found at the bottom of this page.
  2. Proof of graduation from a CoARTE-approved program in Respiratory Therapy.
  3. A recent Criminal Record Check (CRC). This MUST be from the RCMP or local police. No third party CRCs will be accepted. Please mail or have your CRC mailed to SCRT; scanned or faxed copies will not be accepted.
  4. Pay all associated fees.

If you are transferring your licence here from another province, you must submit the following:

  1. An online application form which can be found at the bottom of this page.
  2. A recent Criminal Record Check (CRC). This MUST be from the RCMP or local police. No third party CRCs will be accepted. Please mail or have your CRC mailed to SCRT; scanned or faxed copies will not be accepted.
  3. Pay all associated fees.
  4. Proof of licence from your referring regulating authority. Please complete Section 1 of the SCRT Registration Verification Form and submit the form to your previous regulating authority and have them complete the remainder and return directly to the SCRT.  SCRT Registration Verification Form
  5. Proof of employment. Please complete Section 1 of the SCRT Employment Verification Form and submit the form to your previous employer and have them complete the remainder and return directly to the SCRT.  SCRT Employment Verification Form

*Please note that under the provisions of Chapter 7 of the Agreement on Internal Trade for Labour Mobility, licences are recognized on a permit-by-permit basis. Not all classes of licences are the same in all provinces. Please contact the Registrar at info@scrt.ca if you have any questions regarding the transfer of your licence to Saskatchewan.


Fees

If application for initial registration is made on or after October 1 in any year, the registration fee for a Full practising licence or Graduate practising licence is prorated to $250.

Section 31.1 of the Administrative Bylaws states, "If a member fails to pay the required annual license fee on or before January 31, the member shall pay a penalty of:

  1. $100, if the member pays his or her fees between February 1 and the last day of February;
  2. $200, if the member pays his or her fees between March 1 and 31."
